On August 28th, Seatrium announced that Seatrium Oil and Gas International, a wholly-owned subsidiary, had signed a letter of intent with Shell to carry out construction work for Shell's Sparta project in the Gulf of Mexico. Sparta is Shell's deepwater development project in the Gulf of Mexico, USA. It is located about 170 miles off the coast of Louisiana and covers an area of 4,300 square feet.

8月28日，中华人民共和国财政部、税务总局发布《关于延续实施远洋船员个人所得税政策的公告》。规定一个纳税年度内在船航行时间累计满183天的远洋船员，其取得的工资薪金收入减按50%计入应纳税所得额，依法缴纳个人所得税。
On August 28, the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration of the People's Republic of China issued 'the Announcement on Continuing the Implementation of Individual Income Tax Policies for Ocean-going Seafarers'. It is stipulated that for ocean-going seafarers who have sailed for a total of 183 days in a tax year, their salary income shall be included in the taxable income at a reduced rate of 50%, and personal income tax shall be paid in accordance with the law.

SM Line itself was established after SM Group acquired the remaining business of bankrupt Hanjin Shipping in 2016. In the same year, the government took over HMM following a debt-for-equity swap from its main creditor, KDB.
